After many years, a major Go tournament returns to Düsseldorf with the Lanke Cup.

- Format: 5 rounds, McMahon system, Japanese rules, reduced handicap (−2 stones)
- Time Control: 45 minutes + 15 seconds Fischer increment per move
- EGF Category: A-Class
- Komi: 6.5

Tradition & Neubeginn in Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf has long been one of Germany’s important Go centers. Over many years, the city hosted major Go tournaments that made it a regular meeting place for the German Go community. Until 2017, the Japanischer Generalkonsulpokal was an important part of this tournament tradition.
Since then, Düsseldorf has been missing a major open Go tournament. With the Lanke Cup Düsseldorf Go Open, we aim to revive this Düsseldorf tournament tradition and once again provide players from Germany and abroad with a great platform for competition and exchange.
Together with players, volunteers, and partners, we want to build a tournament that can continue to grow and establish itself as a lasting event in the years to come.
Pre-registration is available online. The entry fee will be paid in cash at the tournament venue on the day of the event.

Accommodation
As the Lanke Cup Düsseldorf Go Open 2026 is being held for the first time, we are currently unable to provide or arrange accommodation.
Participants requiring an overnight stay are kindly advised to arrange their own accommodation in Düsseldorf well in advance.
For future editions, we hope to provide additional information and recommendations for participants travelling from outside Düsseldorf.
